Life in Fort McMurray

Our daily life has again changed since we moved from Sakhalin to Canada. Moving from one country to another is not easy. It always takes about half a year before you feel comfortable in a new place. This is the first time we are not living on an expatriate compound. But once you're settled, there is work and play. Check out Read More (right) to find out all about it.
Wildlife
Plenty of animals here in Fort McMurray. Birds and squirrels in our backyard and even bears are close. This one was taken at Gregoire Lake.

On the 19th of April the ice of the Athabasca and Clearwater river broke and started to melt. It was an awesome sight. Much like the crushed ice of the Ochotsk sea (Sakhalin).
It inspired me again to make some paintings on this subject.

Crushed, broken, split
power pushed up high
Aquamarine, Viridian, Titanium
towards the dark blue sky...
