Louise is named after her grandmother Aloysia. She was born in Korovci a small town in what is now Slovenia and came to the Netherlands with one suitcase when she was a young woman.

My father was very sportive. Joined the national speed skating team.
Army photo: My father top row right. Funny how small he is compared to the others, probably due to his South European background. He enjoyed long distance bike races almost until the end of his life. His last was Luik-Bastenaken-Luik in 1987.
