This time in Japan I am inspired by the Japanese symbols of the threefold 'Tomoe' or Mitsudomoe (3 swirls together in a endless circular movement) and the Kanji character 'Kizuna' which means human bond. This character was chosen as a symbol for the recovery after the March 11 Earthquake and Tsunami. The history of the mitsudomoe is unclear, its meaning changed over time. I see it as a bond between man, heaven and earth, which I hope to stay in balance forever.

As the fragile
short lived
tiny flower
breaks through
the old bark
And the black
sky above
my head
lits up by
clouds in pink
I finally understand
the power
of resilience
in the dark
… I think
